Live improvisation at Golden Retriever Studios ~ 16.07.18

"This piece was realised at the end of a day long recording session with Jack Prest. Despite it being completely improvised and unplanned, the themes which resonated closely throughout the days recording process were those of hopelessness and loss, optimism and strength.

The album I had just recorded is essentially a ‘break up album’ and I was feeling pretty destructive, confused and angry. The drums were played live into a variety of effects processors and guitar pedals manipulated by Jack in the control room. He would send those sounds back into the live room where I was, through an assortment of amps, pedals and broken speakers for me to play with."
